The history of the domain
Originally, Blanche Fleur was a 15th century mill that ran on the current of the Sorgues, the surrounding rivers, which originate at the Fontaine-de-Vaucluse resurgence, only 25km from here.
The Venue forms an island in itself. The surrounding spring water is, regardless of the season, between 12 and 13 degrees.
The mill was run by monks who first worked the wool of the sheep, then the paper pulp. These monks needed a place to pray, hence the presence of the small chapel “Notre Dame de Blanche Fleur” which gave its name to the estate. In 1691 it was restored and then consecrated, which allows us to celebrate baptisms and weddings there.
The Bastide, where you can find the apartments, goes back to the 17th and 18th centuries. When Marie-Claude and Gilles, the owners, bought the domain in 1997, it was in ruins, they restored it little by little to make the beautiful guest house it is today.
A family history
Since the Middle Ages, Blanche Fleur has always been an industrial site with a very strong family connotation. Three quarters of the workers were housed on site, services were held in the chapel and the hot water generated by the paper mill allowed the peasants of the surrounding villages to wash themselves.
When they arrived on the estate, Marie Claude and Gilles fell madly in love with it and decided to make it their life’s work: rebuilding the estate stone by stone, day by day, while preserving the soul and beauty of this place full of history. After several years of continuous efforts, all the emblematic spaces are now open to the public (the Bastide, the Orangerie, the Pool, the Gardens, and since 2021 the Atelier), allowing hundreds of couples to celebrate their union in this incredible environment.
The idea of organising weddings was born from the need to create a commercial activity that would allow to finance the works and the maintenance of the estate while preserving the soul and the beauty of this place full of history.
The Domaine de Blanche Fleur is now a family home, filled with memories and magic, run by a team of enthusiasts who allow you to make your dreams come true while fulfilling theirs. It is in this family spirit that you will be accompanied step by step in the organisation of your most beautiful memories, whatever the type of event.
